My teeth are falling out. Seriously. Today I went to the dentist at the hospital referred by a regular dentist because I am just too complicated to handle. My teeth are very 'mobile' to put it nicely. I ended up having three stiches in my gum to try and save my tooth (a bicuspid). It isn't that I have tooth decay or anything, just a LOT of dental problems. I should have either been a dentist or tried really hard to marry a dentist. Those that know me know that I have a lot of congentially missing teeth. The few teeth that I do have are crooked and misformed with underdeveloped roots. A pretty picture, hey? This is not even my main dental problem. That would be that my bite is totally collapsed (ie my front teeth severely overlap and hardly any of my teeth meet). At one time during the appointment there was a prostodonist, oral surgeon, dentist and 5 dental students in one room gawking at me. Actually they were very nice, unlike dentists in the past. One said, "that is why you don't go into private practice. You'll never get to see cases like this". They also want to write me up for a dental journal because damn it, I am that special.
Blah, blah, blah. My many dental issues. Anyway. There was a lot of talk a bit ago regarding jaw surgery with a 6 week recovery. These particular dental professionals don't feel it's necessary. They want to put in implants at a cost around $20,000. Sigh. I also have to see a geneticist - because my mum, aunts and gran have a similiar problem.
Honestly...... I don't want to lose any teeth, but it is unknown what is going to happen. Too much drama.

Weekend Update
I meant to blog for some time, but I've been very busy. Very, very busy week at work, just keep getting more work dumped on me. {insert sigh here} Spent some time at the gym this weekend and some time doing normal stuff, laundry, shopping, etc. Last night we met P's ex-coworker N and his wife E for Japanese food which was fabulous. I Looooovveee Japanese food and this was very good. I even enjoyed some Sake. It was so nice to see them and then we went to a kind of game arcade for adults. I got to play pinball (I haven't played that in years since I was a little kid and my Grandpa used to give G and I quarters in the bar while he had a couple). We also played some virtual reality games like boxing, which was quite a hoot as P kept imitating my moves all day and really exaggerating them! It was a lot of fun and just what I needed.
I am also getting ready to paint the upstairs hallway, something I've wanted to do for ages, but other rooms were always more important. Taped that today and cleaned the kitchen, P is making dinner. I am sitting here watching --- okay I hate to admit it, but E!'s "The Girls Next Door". P thinks I am crazy, but I just find is entertaining, perhaps because I am so not like the ladies on that show.
Here's to a good week!

Back from C-Town
I've gotten home from a quick trip to Chicago to initiate a new site for one of my studies. It's part of my new role. It went well. I ended up flying instead of driving as everyone tells me driving in Chicago is hellish. That includes those among us that possess a British Driving License.I spent loads of time in a cab. Does anyone that was born in America drive a Taxi? Why do only foreigners drive Taxis - that isn't so in Britian. It is that terrible of a job? We went to the Cheesecake Factory last night. Everyone rants and raves about this place. The menu is so huge as well as the portions. My food was good, not super spectacular but it was a very nice experience. Unfortunately not having control of my environment and missing my regular mealtimes for a few days really wrecks havoc on my insulin levels and in turn how I feel. Trying to get back to normal.
It was 47 degrees out today and all the snow is melting! I love it.

Happy Valentine's Day (late)
Well it is still very cold out here. We got a storm on Tuesday night and a bunch of snow, although not as much as predicted. The Wednesday commute was a bit crummy as none of the roads were plowed. Yesterday was just a terrible day. Work was awful - way too busy, one issue after another, I spent the day worring about various things, American Idol didn't TiVo, the fertility disappointment really got to me. Blah, blah, blah. I got home on V's Day and P had bought me beautiful lavendar roses, a really nice card, and made shrimp cocktail, taramasalta, tilapia and bought me a oreo brownie which I ate with a glass of much needed wine.
Today was better, I hit the gym for an hour workout, and am hanging out watching Survivor and American Idol with the fireplace on. P is studying for the GMAT on Saturday.

Found some pictures
I spent some time last night actually trying to make a dent in the many, many photos that we have. This is prior to getting a digital camera and there are loads of pictures of Ireland, London, Spain, etc that we just don't even look at if we don't use the computer. Sad, isn't it? I remember when people would show slides of vacations. I found some neat photographs I haven't seen in a long time. Here are few of those really neat ones from our travels:
The first one is the pyramids from our trip to Egypt. The 2nd is me looking out over Rome Italy. The 3rd is Blarney Castle in Ireland.

It's still too cold!
Work has been extremely busy this week. It also is very quiet because one of my office mates quit and the other is out this week. I also received a call from the nurse at my RE's office. We were set to start another IVF cycle in a month and I was not given the OK due to an already high level of hormone becoming even higher which would indicate a poor outcome. I have alternated the rest of the day feeling teary, and then numb off and on, with a little anger thrown in. Not what we were expecting and pretty disapointing that you don't even 'qualify' for IVF. The public is led to believe it is the solution to solve all things 'infertile'. People say things like 'well you just need IVF'. Duh, I've done IVF. That is two centers that have rejected me for IVF - I should find one more to make it three.
I need a mini-vacation. My college friend invited me out to Tucson to visit and enjoy the 80 degree weather, and I am going to try and make it the 2nd week of March.

It's cold!!!
It is one degree out currently. I went out this morning and P's car didn't start. So I took my Escape which is older, slower to heat up, and lacks heated seats. I wore tons of layers, a 'chook', scarf and double pairs of gloves. The cold just plain makes me ache and I hate it so much. It is forecast to be cold until Thursday when he predicted high is 25 F. It is so cold everything in the garage wa freezing. The operation of our garage door also gets really iffy in the cold. P had to go out and fix that problem. I stayed inside.

Friday post .... Late
Yesterday started out to be a good Friday, but got crazier by the minute. I left work and stopped by the mall to pick up some things. I left the mall and got caught in a traffic jam for over an hour. Growing up in a small town I still am not used to the vast amount of people on the roads down here and find it difficult to deal with.
I was meeting coworkers for a bowling night and ended up being late, and had no time to grab any dinner. Got to the bowling alley and the staff was moving soo slowly. Finally got bowling where I bowled an astounding 58 and a 70 (which is pretty good for me actually). Also got all smoked up. People in bowling alleys love to smoke! Came home at around 9:30 and was just going to have something (hadn't been home since 6:30 this morning) and get ready for P to get home. I hadn't seen P in over 2 weeks as he was working away. The phone rings - it's P. He's at the airport and his car won't start after sitting for two weeks in the subzero temps. Bloody hell! Got back in the car drove to the airport (30 min away), can't find the long term parking he's at and have to circle around for another 20 minutes. He finally walks back to the terminal, we have circle around and find the parking which accidently results in me taking the wrong exit (hey I was tired!) and going the complete opposite way. We finally get there and jump the car. P can't exit the structure because it's been like 2 hours since he paid. Did I mention it's 12 degrees out as well? More chaos ensues. Finally get home. I don't sleep much last night, who knows why? DItch the gym this morning and all I wanted to do last night was see P, watch the Office from Thursday (best show on TV), sample the red velvet cheesecake he brought me as a suprise, and have my Friday night gin and tonic. I might be able to work something out for tonight.
