A frozen man everyone ignored.

The picture is disturbing. Ugh. I don't even know what to think except it makes me very sad.

Baby Nicknames

So my daughter is named Victoria. We (meaning family and friends) really don't call her that consistently. I call her Vi regularly as does my family, which P doesn't like. He started calling her V, which I do too. His family calls her Tori, which I can't stand. We also have really silly names for her too! So to recap - she has been called the following:

Vi
V
Little "V"
V V (just recently by me)
Pee pee girl
Angel baby (I call her this every a.m.)
Baby of the Angels
Vicki (my aunt, hate that)
Stinkaroo
Tori (P's family, hate it)
Little Jenny (coworkers)
baby doll
sweetie pie
cutie pie
fussbudget
crab
poopy pants
Things have been a bit trying last week and this week so far. P is working tons of hours, our garage door broke (necessitating waiting for P to get home to manually lift the door and it is like 5 degrees out so we definately want to park in the garage), my rear blinker light is completely out, I have four + laundry baskets of clean laundry to put away (yeah right), work has been positively revolting, I haven't been able to get any exercise, and the V is crabby this week. There is just no time to get anything done if I want to get any kind of decent sleep. Right now she is sleeping on me and I have managed to get both hands free to type - Yahoo! I'm going to try to put her in the pack n' play so I could actually pee and maybe run the dishwasher. I don't think she is going to go for it. I think she may be teething, but I can't see or feel anything. Last night she slept all night so Praise God!

5 months old....

and hanging out with "Mimi" and "Chester".

January is well..... January

So I really haven't had time to post. Life has been fairly crazy lately. One thing after another needs attention and it just gets so very, very busy. There isn't a ton of time for being together with P or having a ton of fun. Welcome to life, right? The major updates:

Vi is really great. She had her first cold, but still seems fairly jolly. She isn't big on tummy time or rolling over, but loves her 'nude' time on the playmat and kicks and dances and laughs and smiles. Bottles are less attractive to her than before and she really, really likes her cereal, gobbling it down. She's tried oatmeal and rice cereal, I'm going to start barley next week. Carrots are preferable to sweet potatoes, and she hates green beans and peas. At her 5 month checkup she weighed 14 pounds and was 26 inches long (90% for height). The outfits she retired really aren't too small, but too short.

P has January off from grad school so it's been super great having him around more. That said, he works until 7:30-9:30 p.m. every night. I leave him to do the late feeding ~ 10:oo p.m. and I try to hit the hay in case Miss Vi is up at 3 or 4.

I have not been feeling well. The arthritis is severe in my hands and feet especially, and sometimes my knees and neck. I'm not going to the gym as much as and as long as I'd like, but I am trying to stay active (and take off those last 9 pounds!) by being on the Wii Fit and treadmill at home. When I went to the Rheumatologist he found that I failed an eye test because my eyes are really not making any tears and that I had an extremely dry mouth along with the arthritis and digestive symptoms. He thinks I have Sjogren's syndrome, an autoimmune disease that causes all sorts of issues and is related to lupus/rheumatoid arthritis. Honestly, do I need anything else? But yes, it would be nice to move on and get some treatment and feel better!

January has been, well January. It's so cold and snowy here. December was very cold and snowy for this part of Michigan. I hate not going outside and minimizing taking the baby out due to the freeze. I miss taking her out in the stroller and talking to all the neighbors.

It's 3;56 a.m.

.... and I am up with Vi. Ugh.

Monday, January 12, 2009

So I haven't written in a while because I've found out being a working mom with a husband that works 60 hours a week and not feeling well takes a LOT of time. Vi is actually home sick today - with a fever and yucky chest cough. I have to take her to the Dr in 30 minutes to have it checked out. Otherwise she is doing well and is now 5 months old! Wow.

Last night I had her on the play gym mat naked before her bath. She loves her clothes-less time and kicks and rolls around in all of her naked glory. Last night I was letting her do that and hanging out writing in the baby book on the floor next to her. I looked up and my baby girl is starting to poop on the playmat! I whipped a diaper on her and caught most of it. But the playmat is down being washed now.

Break

So I was off quite a few days for the break. P was as well, so we actually got to spend time together for a change, which was nice. It seems like the break flew by waaayyy too quickly and that I didn't really get any time to relax. I spent the 23rd running around for last minute gifts, the 24th at the gym in the a.m. and opening gifts with P & Vi. Christmas Day we spent at home (actually was relaxing), the 26th -friends over to play games most of the day, the 27th, P's family over for Christmas, the 28th - 29th driving up to my hometown which was a long terrible ride, the 30th spent with friends, the 31st, the gym and shopping and cleaning, and yesterday - New Year's massive cleaning bee. I just wanted to sit around in pajamas watching a movie and see some friends. Not drive, shop, launder and cook. It was all so .... tiring. The baby is out of sorts majorly and has been up most nights wanting to eat anywhere from 4-6 a.m. There is also enough laundry in my basement to clothe a small village.

That out of the way - I still never got my lobster dinner. We buy lobster at home and make it fresh at home for a fraction of the cost. I love, love, love lobster. We never got around to it.

Blah and bah humbug too.
